Scope and Contents
The American Annals of the Deaf collection consists of letters, newsletters, financial statements, invoices, reports, and minutes of meetings. The collection, which consists of approximately 5,100 pages, dates from 1964 to 1986. The bulk of the collection consists of letters concerning the Annals’ publication and the history of the meetings, and where it was held. Included in the collection there was correspondence concerning on planned publication of Dr. Powrie Vaux Doctor’s biography written by Rev. Steve L. Mathis. However, it was never published. The largest subject in the collection is focused on captioned films and captioned television for the deaf. Some collection contains administrative papers of the Annals.
