SBG Key to Gallaudet, ca. 1968
Scope and Contents
These records provide an overview of the activities of Gallaudet University's Student Body Government.
The bulk of the records is correspondence, particularly by SBG presidents and vice-presidents, but also by various executive staff, including directors and secretaries. There is less material from the other two branches of the SBG -- the Chief Justice and the Student Assembly/Congress -- but most administrations do include minutes from Student Assembly/Congress meetings, and often records of motions made in the Assembly/Congress.
Most administrations also include extensive records of major social events on campus, particularly Homecoming and the Rock Festival, including program books, correspondence and minutes from the event planning, and in some cases flyers, tickets, and other ephemera.
From 1998 onward, the records grow more fragmentary, perhaps reflecting the increasing popularity of digital communication in those years.
