The Howard Tracy Hofsteater Collection consists of approximately 850 items dating from 1930 to 1959. The majority of his papers date from the 1930’s to 1940’s. The bulk of the collection consists of articles, letters, poem and writings.

The folder of letters to his wife Marie P. Hofsteater is arranged chronologically. Included in the folders labeled to “writings” papers by Mr. Hofsteater related to different subjects among them deaf education. It is arranged alphabetically by title.
