Scope and Contents
This collection contains two boxes of different items dating from 1961-1983. Mostly the collection contains items related to his book, They Grow in Silence. The manuscript of the book is in the collection, Agreements and letters Copyright Notice, Sales Figures and the book published in Italian. Other items in the collection include correspondences and editorials to different journals.

Biographical / Historical
Dr. Eugene Mindel was the Medical Director for the Minnesota Chemical Dependency Program for Hearing Impaired Youth. He graduated from John Hopkins University Medical School and served as an assistant professor at the University of Chicago Medical School and at Northwestern University Medical School.
He was the Director of Child Psychiatry at Michael Reese Hospital.
He has worked with deaf people for more than 23 years. He currently resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
