Papers marking important points in Eastman’s life, including his birth certificate, a resume, a collection of awards and certificates he earned, and some photographs, mostly unlabeled. Also includes a program from the 1961 Gallaudet commencement autographed by then Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, who was the commencement speaker that year.

Scope and Contents Material related to Eastman’s work as a writer of plays, books, articles, and stories, including drafts, scripts, notes, and correspondence on his publications. Of particular interest are a stage sketch and autographs from the cast of his Kennedy Center production of Antigone, scripts for several of Eastman’s plays, and some of his work as a student at ASD and Gallaudet.
