Flyers and Letters for LGBT Events, 1989-1991, 1994
Scope and Contents
The bulk of these records contain meeting minutes and correspondence, both incoming and outgoing. The bulk dates for most comprehensive documentation of operational activity is centered between 1989-1993. Also included in the collection are planning documents related to the 1993 Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf's convention hosted by SCRSD, flyers for assorted events ranging from 1980 to the early 90s, publications of SCRSD and single issues of newsletters from other organizations, as well as the by-laws of the organization and surveys sent to members.
Of note, the survey file in series 7 has results of a survey sent out in 1996 that points to some reason for declining membership. Additionally, box 2 folder 6 contains a letter from the ACLU that briefly mentions the Rodney King incident.

Includes flyers from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, The American Civil Liberties Union's Lesbian and Gay Rights Chapter, the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center, the Los Angeles Chapter of Black and White Men Together, the June L. Mazer Lesbian Collection, We Wah and Bar Chee Ampe (Gay and Lesbian Native Americans in New York City), and the Stonewall 25 Planning Group. Of note, the letter from the ACLU refers to the Rodney King incident.
