Scope and Contents
Material related to Eastman’s work as a writer of plays, books, articles, and stories, including drafts, scripts, notes, and correspondence on his publications. Of particular interest are a stage sketch and autographs from the cast of his Kennedy Center production of Antigone, scripts for several of Eastman’s plays, and some of his work as a student at ASD and Gallaudet. Scope and Contents
Most of this series is from the mid-90s through mid-2000s, after Eastman’s retirement from Gallaudet. It includes correspondence, programs, agendas, and advertisements for speeches he gave and sign language workshops he conducted around the country. In some cases, his text and/or notes for his presentations are also included. Venues include deaf and hearing schools and conventions of deaf groups.
