Scope and Contents

Organizational papers fill this collection primarily. Mostly legal documents such as minutes of the meeting, agendas of the meeting, by-laws, constitution, and financial reports are included in this collection. Correspondences with Gallaudet College students who got this financial help are included. Morgan R. Owens Foundation provided the brochures from their organizational papers.

Scope and Contents The Morse Family Collection includes materials related to his inventions, and some personal correspondence between members of the Morse Family. The collection dates from 1815 to 1892 and consists of 49 items.The majority of the papers are dated during the 1880’s. National Fraternal Society of the Deaf (NFSD) was an insurance business established in 1901.

Its purposes were to provide insurance to mainly Deaf members, to serve as an advocate for the Deaf, and to provide community service and recreational opportunities through divisional activities. The existing insurance coverage was transferred to the Catholic Order of Foresters in 2005. The NFSD disbanded in 2007.
